Time: 8.30 - 11.30am (3 hours)
Fees: RM200

This workshop is for everyone of all ages and fitness levels
Places limited to 8 pax

Noah's first book, Meet Your Body, is designed to get clients and regular folks moving and thinking about 'oiling' the hinges of their body...if we don't use hinges, they rust!  In this three hour course, we'll use techniques and ideas from the book to help anyone who wants to feel better. One of the primary considerations of Meet Your Body is, begin!  Start small, but any movement is better than deciding to sit around and rust. Starting with toes and ankles, and working up into neck and head, we examine the hinges and how to make them work more happily.

Conducted by Elizabeth Buri, certified Level II CORE Instructor.

For more information and enquiry, email elizabeth@ourbodyspace.com.

This workshop is for everyone of all ages and fitness levels

BodyMindCORE Work (for the Movement Therapist), co-written by Elizabeth Buri and Rob White, features two sections, both of which can be helpful to clients. In the first half of the book we talk about simple ideas that can make us healthier; learning better breathing techniques, calming the nerve of well-being, becoming more mindful. The second half features movement awareness ideas and exercises designed to open specific centers and gateways in the body so that all can move more freely with less restrictions in their bodies. We 'move' between the two segments in a pleasing yet mildly challenging day.

KL, Malaysia: CORE II Intensive: Technique

Conducted by Elizabeth Buri, Level II CORE Instructor

Pre-requisite: CORE I
CREDITS: 24 CPDs
CLASS FEES: RM2080 (deposit: RM800)

Places Limited to 8

CORE II Intensive: Technique — In this course we review the five session recipe and spend most of the time on techniques to enhance the work. Also included, Emotional Anatomy and more movement exercises.

Continuing the progression of learning that begins with CORE I, in CORE II we continue to work with the one session, one hour all purpose recipe for a session of generic, good-for-what-ails-you bodywork. In addition, we spend quality time learning specific CORE techniques that enhance the learning of that recipe. We’ll also visit emotional anatomy, seated back work, and review a bibliography of related readings that support the CORE philosophy.

CORE I and II are prerequisite to learning the CORE III and IV five series of five sessions.

NOTE: Enrollment in CORE II, III, or IV does not guarantee a certification. The certificate is issued at the discretion of the instructor, and requirements must be fulfilled in terms of the individual's progress. About Pentony O’Hagan BSc SMRT

Pentony has 10 years experience of working with individuals to relieve musculoskeletal pain, improve movement and function and restore balance to the body.

“Improved pain-free movement is at the core of what I try to achieve with my clients. Historically, when a new or regular client comes to see me, while treating the injury or area of stiffness/discomfort, I also focus on finding the root cause of the problem and simultaneously rectify any imbalance to prevent re-injury. Studying CORE with Noah was a game changer to my practice. Taking my focus away from the symptoms to focus on the connective tissue as a whole brought results faster that lasted longer. It also helped the clients to truly ‘meet their body’ and bring order, dynamism and fluidity to their movement. Pain, melted away.”

Pentony started her CORE journey in 2012 and in 2017 achieved her level CORE I teaching award. She has been teaching soft tissue techniques for many years and has now added CORE fascial release to her programme.

CORE I is a two full-day course.

KL, Malaysia CORE I Intensive
OurBodySpace

30th - 31st March 2019
Early Bird, before 18th March - RM1780
After 15th February 18th March - RM1888

CORE I Intensive —

CORE I is the flagship course designed and developed by Noah Steven Karrasch (SMTO Conference 2016) to provide an All Purpose Recipe of CORE Fascial Release.

His philosophy of effective and safe Bodywork that Coaxes Order and Restores Energy offers massage therapists and other bodyworkers the opportunity to work with their clients in a new and efficient way. Practitioners conserve their own energy and find the method easier on their body while clients are empowered to take a more active role in their treatment.

CORE Bodywork facilitates change in a Direct, Deep and Dynamic manner.

CORE I focuses on the basic ideas of the CORE Philosophy of good, safe deep tissue bodywork: assess, learn to access the correct layer of resistance, create movements and breath work for the client, and integrate any and all work done. We also cover intention, the psoas muscle, kinesiology lines of fascia, appropriate stretching cues and focus on the CORE® one session recipe, which we also observe, practice on each other, and on a client. Added recently: skin and superficial fascia dissection DVD with Gil Hedley. There is no pre requisite for CORE I — any massage therapist (and many lay people) with curiosity can benefit from this class.

No pre-req.

KL, Malaysia: Shoulder Holders

Conducted by Elizabeth Buri, Level II CORE Instructor

16th March 2019
Early bird before 5th March: RM668
After 5th March: RM750

Shoulder Holders — In a long and involved day, we’ll begin peripherally from shoulders, working towards that "stuck" spot. By the time we arrive, we hope to have already created resilience and release in the problem shoulder. We look at the four 'rotator''muscles, but also at their two dozen friends and supporting characters, including what Noah calls the 'uber -rotators'. We begin far away and work towards the problem, which may not be there when we get to it. Demo and partner work. Students often tell Noah this course has helped with problem shoulders more than any course they’ve taken.

Maldives: PSOAS: Storer Of All Stress

Conducted by Elizabeth Buri certified Level II CORE Instructor

A six-hour day is barely enough time to explore this complicated muscle and its relationships to other parts of the body, especially to iliacus and quadratus lumborum, but also to throat and jaw issues, plantar fasciitis, shoulder and back problems, etc. Noah believes the psoas acts as a lightning rod to attract excess trauma and store it along the body’s deep line.
Besides intensive study of anatomy, function and aberration, we’ll focus on how to work and how to elicit client work, slowly, gently and safely. Added in recent years: balance of psoas/diaphragm/iliacus/quadratus lumborum and attention give to interaction of vagus nerve.
